Israel has once again won the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2016 nominating " Recreational Rest " competition, organized by a single edition.
The winners of the sixth annual award set an open vote. The National Geographic Traveler Awards has traditionally had 23 nominations. Voting determines the best tourist destinations of the year, airlines, hotel networks, airports, etc.
This year, as a result of the vote, Israel became a leader in the nomination of “Recreational Rest”, ahead of the votes of the other 12 participating countries. Previously, Israel had already won the nomination twice in a row, in 2012 and 2013.
The award was held on 17 November in Moscow.
To date, Israel is one of the leading countries in the area of health tourism, notes the Ministry of Tourism. Every year, about 13 per cent of all the country ' s guests choose this type of rest and report to the department.
