By the end of November, environmental activists of the four Russian regions: Irkut, Leningrad, Leibura and the Khabarov province will present the results of the projects implemented, which were funded through the 2016 project, as part of the Clean Bank infrastructure project, the Environmental Project Exchange. Today, however, it can be said that, with the establishment of a new mechanism for interaction between environmental activists and businesses through HEINEKEN, the initiator and financial donor of the Environment Exchange, the Clean Berega project has reached a fundamentally new stage of development. This project selection and follow-up mechanism allows the company to maintain confidence in the effective use of the funds allocated, which lays the foundation for the further expansion and development of the environment in HEINEKEN corporate social responsibility policy.
The " Clean Berega Baikal " project, which was launched as a local area, has now acquired all-Russian scope, bringing together 10 projects and eight organizations in four regions of Russia. A competitive selection process based on the Environmental Exchange has made it possible, in an honest competition, to select among the 36 applications that meet the criteria for competitive bidding, the most interesting and effective projects that will contribute to improving the environmental environment of coastal recreational areas while at the same time fostering a culture of responsible behaviour between residents and tourists in the management of domestic wastes. The total funding for the " Clean Bank " projects in 2016 was 3, 6 million roubles, which included the printing of 19,000 leaflets, the purchase and installation of 104 containers for the separation of household waste, the manufacture and installation of 70 banners and plates.
